The Why of FinVerve

I started FinVerve to solve my own need.

At the start of 2025, I sat down to think through the year gone by and the year ahead.

For a few years, I have been telling myself to be regular on Linkedin, to build a stronger network , a powerful professional identity. But I have failed to be regular at posting on Linkedin.

So I asked myself what's holding me back from posting regularly (especially when the LI algo prioritises regularity).

And the answer I got was that I keep having Writer's Block !

  • What should I talk about? Fintech is my chosen field but what specifically?
  • Does anyone even care about my point of view?
  • Do I know enough about the topic to have a meaningful dialog/comment? Or will I make myself look like a fool.

And from this introspection emerged the possibility of creating a tool that can help with specific aspects of my struggle.

What if:

  • I don't have to look for interesting fintech updates - Curated Fintech Updates
  • I have a few handy suggestions of interesting story angles - Suggested Storylines
  • Create a Linkedin draft or final post for me to make tweaks to - Write the post

This got me to the MVP of FinVerve.

Since I was building for myself (was just running code on my local machine) - I did not spend too much time doing an external validation.

But I noticed multiple GenAI tools (mostly) launched as a Chrome Extension (a separate post on my decision to not build a chrome extension) solving the engagement vs effort challenge for professionals.

My assumption with tinkering with GenAI is that vertical focused solutions will have a better chance. A fintech focused Linkedin tool will over time deliver better value for professionals (and no it would not be the GenAI part but the other aspects of the product valuechain), hence

I did ask a few of my fintech friends and most agreed on :

  • Need to build a stronger brand on Linkedin. In a focused way.
  • Have not been able to do it regularly. (many had the exact verbatim articulation of what's holding them back)
  • Would love to explore any tool that would help in this.

So with that, I migrated this MVP to Finverve.com  and opened it up for a few friends to test.

Sincere gratitude to Shrey who helped with multiple feedback in the early days. Helping us iterate fast - sometimes 3 versions in the same afternoon !

With FinVerve, my larger vision is to build a co-pilot for fintech professionals. And I am choosing to start with this Linkedin focused offering because I really feel that a strong brand unlocks amazing opportunities.
